King’s Day – celebrating friendship and international cooperation

King’s Day, or Koningsdag, is one of the most important and joyful national holidays in the Netherlands. It is celebrated every year on April 27th, the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. The tradition of celebrating the royal birthday dates back to the late 19th century, when the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina was celebrated under the name Prinsessedag (Princess’s Day). Later, the holiday became known as Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day), and after King Willem-Alexander ascended the throne in 2013, it received its current name.

King’s Day (Koningsdag), the national holiday of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, brings together partners, organisations and friends of the Dutch community each year in the spirit of cooperation, culture and connection. We are pleased that KroNLand was also part of this year’s celebration in Zagreb.

In that spirit of international friendship and cooperation, representatives of KroNLand, Sandra and Davor attended this year’s King’s Day celebration at the Residence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Zagreb. On May 7th, we had the honour of attending the celebration organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Croatia. It was an evening of inspiring conversations, meaningful encounters and the celebration of the long-standing friendship between Croatia and the Netherlands. The event was also a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with Željana Pancirov Cornelisse, Croatian-Dutch translator and long-time promoter of cultural connections between Croatia and the Netherlands.

We are proud to be part of a story that connects people, ideas and communities through sustainability, culture and international cooperation. 🌱

It was especially meaningful to remember last year’s presentation of the KroNLand project at the Dutch Embassy, where our initiative was recognised as an example of connecting green economy, sustainable agriculture, creative industries and international cooperation. On that occasion, KroNLand had the opportunity to present its vision of sustainable communities, urban regeneration and green development to numerous guests from Croatia and abroad.

Kraljev dan – slavlje prijateljstva, suradnje i zajedničkih vrijednosti

Kraljev dan, odnosno Koningsdag, jedan je od najvažnijih i najveselijih državnih praznika u Nizozemskoj. Slavi se svake godine 27. travnja, na rođendan kralja Willema-Alexandera. Tradicija obilježavanja kraljevskog rođendana započela je još krajem 19. stoljeća, kada se slavio rođendan kraljice Wilhelmine pod nazivom Prinsessedag (Dan princeze). Kasnije je praznik promijenio ime u Koninginnedag (Dan kraljice), a nakon dolaska kralja Willema-Alexandera na prijestolje 2013. godine dobio je današnji naziv.

Kraljev dan (Koningsdag), nacionalni praznik Kraljevine Nizozemske, svake godine okuplja partnere, organizacije i prijatelje nizozemske zajednice u duhu suradnje, kulture i povezivanja. Drago nam je što je i KroNLand bio dio ovogodišnjeg obilježavanja u Zagrebu.

U tom duhu međunarodnog povezivanja i prijateljstva, predstavnici Udruge KroNLand, Sandra i Davor, sudjelovali su na ovogodišnjoj proslavi Kraljevog dana u Rezidenciji Kraljevine Nizozemske u Zagrebu. Dana 7. svibnja imali smo čast prisustvovati proslavi u organizaciji Veleposlanstva Kraljevine Nizozemske u Hrvatskoj. Bila je to večer susreta, inspirativnih razgovora i obilježavanja dugogodišnjeg prijateljstva između Hrvatske i Nizozemske. Ovaj susret bio je i lijepa prilika za ponovno druženje sa Željanom Pancirov Cornelisse, hrvatsko-nizozemskom prevoditeljicom i dugogodišnjom promicateljicom kulturnog povezivanja Hrvatske i Nizozemske.

Ponosni smo što smo dio priče koja povezuje ljude, ideje i zajednice kroz održivost, kulturu i međunarodnu suradnju. 🌱

Posebno nam je bilo lijepo prisjetiti se prošlogodišnjeg gostovanja KroNLand projekta u nizozemskom veleposlanstvu, kada je upravo naš projekt bio predstavljen kao primjer povezivanja zelene ekonomije, održive poljoprivrede, kreativnih industrija i međunarodne suradnje. Tada je KroNLand imao priliku predstaviti svoju viziju održivih zajednica, urbane regeneracije i zelenog razvoja pred brojnim uzvanicima iz Hrvatske i inozemstva.
